GP Super Clinic officially opens!
VISION BECOMES REALITY
The Hume GP Super Clinic was launched on Monday 16 February 2015 by Ms Maria Vamvakinou MP, Federal Member for Calwell. The event was attended by members of Federal, State and Local Government, as well as members from local health, business and community groups.
The super clinic is a high quality, specially built centre providing major services in one, easy place for the people of Broadmeadows and surrounding areas.
It has taken 10 years to develop the super clinic. It was funded by the Federal Government and Dianella.
Dianella Medical services (doctors) moved to the Hume GP Super Clinic on Monday 2 February. Interpreters are now available at the Medical Practice. Allied Health services (physiotherapy, podiatry, etc.) are moving during February. Dental services will move by the end of 2015.
St John of God pathology is now operating from the super clinic. Soon MIA Radiology will open and Quality Pharmacy will move to the clinic later this year.
“Broadmeadows and the northern suburbs is an area that is growing in population, and needs high quality health services to meet increasing demands,” said Dr Neil Cowen, Dianella CEO.
Dr Cowen said Dianella has a long history of providing quality care to local people, and listened to patients to know what local people want and need.
“We have bulk billing, which means everybody can afford the best health care available. After hours service will soon be available seven days a week and until 10pm on weekdays, which has never happened in this area before. People can get same day appointments, which they can book by telephone or online. And our services are for absolutely every member of the community,” Dr Cowen said.
Hume GP Super Clinic services include GPs, Aboriginal Health Promotion, Counselling, Diabetes Nurse Education, Interpreters, Paediatricians, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Refugee and Asylum Seeker health programs.
