Our physical health and wellbeing services pertain to the identification, evaluation and prevention of diseases and disorders; dietary and nutrition services; rehabilitation and health systems management, among others.

 

Diabetes Nurse Education

Diabetes education aims to assist you with diabetes by developing your skills, improving your knowledge and developing your confidence in managing Diabetes.   If you have diabetes, we also recommend you consider our podiatry service.

 

Diet and Nutrition

Dietitians do not put you on a strict diet, make you cut out all your favourite foods or only focus on how much weight you’ve lost or gained. Dietitians work with you to help with making healthy food choices and understanding your relationship with food.

Health Coaching

Health coaching is all about working with you to help you to improve your overall health.   We listen to your health concerns,  sharing ideas with you to develop a plan that looks after your health.  We let you know about and put you in contact with services that can help you.

 

Occupational Therapy (Adult)

Occupational therapists help people with impairments or limitations in physical or mental function to participate in everyday life activity such as self-care, work and leisure.

 

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy aims to increase your physical wellbeing through exercise, advice and specific treatment of problem joints or muscles.

 

Podiatry

A podiatrist is a trained health professional who deals with prevention, diagnosis and treatment of conditions of the feet and lower limbs.  A podiatrist will treat conditions such as arthritis and diseases of the nerves or blood supply, especially for those with diabetes who are at increased risk of lower limb amputation due to limited blood circulation. Podiatrists manage pressure areas and prevent ulceration to keep people mobile.

 

Smoking cessation

Smoking causes heart and blood vessel damage, lunch disease, shortness of breath, coughing and weak bones.  If you’ve made the first step in deciding you want to change your life by quitting, our smoking cessation coaches will work with you every step of the way to achieving your goal.
